[00:01.310 --> 00:07.590] So, the silicone sheet that I had for the grinder guard was a little bit too grippy and
[00:08.310 --> 00:13.650] I found this Teflon sheet that's about .2mm, 8 thousandths of an inch thick and it's got
[00:13.650 --> 00:19.070] a nice body to it and the Teflon is easy to wipe off and still has the high heat capacity
[00:19.070 --> 00:20.410] and all those things.
[00:21.070 --> 00:27.110] But gripping it and not having it slide out of these screw strips is a problem.
[00:27.710 --> 00:34.990] So I thought, well how can I put a grippy, abrasive surface on this aluminum cap strip
[00:34.990 --> 00:39.770] and I thought I could put a layer of like lacquer down and then put the silicon carbide
[00:39.770 --> 00:45.770] on but how do you get it while it's still wet but not too thick and I thought ah, I'll
[00:45.770 --> 00:50.170] put my transfer tape on which I have on here and then just throw the silicon carbide
[00:50.170 --> 00:55.250] paper or powder on and in the areas where it matters, obviously there's not going
[00:55.250 --> 00:58.510] to be hardly any pressure in between here and works like a champ.
A grippy tip. The transfer tape is 0.002" (.05mm) thick. The 320 grit (40micron) I used actually got a very good bite on the sheet but I think 120 (117micron) or 180 (85micron) would be a better size.
